The Professional Theatre and Dance Youth Academy, in partnership with the University of Chicago Charter School- Woodlawn Campus, is proud to present the debut of its first Extended Day Arts Program for Middle school students entitled The Academy Kids. The Academy Kids meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 P.M.- 5:15 P.M. The Academy Kids program is an audition based performing company for students in grades 6-8, designed to give an intensive and comprehensive training of the performing arts. Students will be challenged to explore dance and choreography with master choreographers in addition to vocal training by some of Chicago’s finest vocal instructors. Students will also be directed and staged by Executive and Artistic Director Michael Jones. This group will represent our school and community in on- and off- campus events. Through the Academy Kids Extended Day Program, interested students are able to delve deeper into their love of the performing arts.
